Prepare to have your mind BLOWN. Everyone loved Heath Ledger’s amazing performance as The Joker in 2008’s The Dark Knight, but what most people don’t know is that it was actually Danny Devito under heavy prosthetics. According to an article I read, Ledger won the role, but eventually had to drop out shortly after the casting announcement. DeVito selflessly took on the role, and spent weeks living in-character as Ledger in-character as The Joker. During filming, Ledger took a vacation to Guam, which was lovely that time of year. DeVito’s performance was critically acclaimed, but he graciously allowed Ledger to take all of the credit, along with an Academy Award. DeVito was forced to retire the character after one film out of respect for Ledger’s death, but he got the opportunity to provide motion capture for the Batmobile in The Dark Knight Rises, a role for which he was also uncredited. Although Ledger and his supposed performance as The Joker may never grace the screen again, DeVito’s genius will live on in our hearts forever.

Like when women hate men it’s frustrating at worst, maybe it hurts someone’s feelings, but when men hate women they are shamed, abused, patronized, demeaned, objectified, raped, and murdered, ya feel me, so even if I WAS a raging misandrist like worst case scenario I’d be a bummer at parties, meanwhile a girl somewhere literally can’t leave her house because it’s dark outside.
